Elections are Coming- Kate Salute and Emmanuel Blackett, along with remnants of last year’s student advisors, will be holding schoolwide student government elections. The process will start in DEAR next Tuesday. You are Awesome!

Electives - As our year begins, 500 students have successfully selected electives. Some of these electives (Stoked and ScriptEd) will have outsiders joining our classrooms. If you see a new face during period 5 this is what is making us awesome!
DEAR CAMP - Maryann Brown will host a DEAR Camp for new members to Hudson High School. What are the goals and expectations of DEAR? This meeting will be on Monday 9/21/15 @ 3:30 in room B13. You are Awesome!

Hidden Sanctuary- While we were out for the summer, Room 104 has been transformed by the sweat of Halley Anne Curtis into a calming environment. Not to be outdone, JP Slee has redesigned room 133 with a two tone wonderous paint job and white boards that would make Tom Hendricks jealous. You are Awesome!
GE Skills- Gina Angelillo and Laura Schenke took the lead over the summer of our GE Skills Venture Program and are wholly vested in bridging the gap between outside and in the class learning. You are Awesome!
Our House- Our House will start next week. If you are interested in organizing this Hudson staple, please let Walter Brown know. Dan Berkley organized a calendar last year.
Leadership Meetings - will be held on a regular basis on Tuesday mornings. Team leaders have been selected to represent your grade level teams.
D75- Hudson welcomes Marie Yip and her team to the 10th grade. Marie will be collaborating with 10th grade teachers as well as being a point person on all D75 collaboration. You are Awesome! Video Overview
De-Escalation Protocol- If you are interested in training through our D75 partner school please email Wbrown@hudsonhs.com Therapeutic Crisis Intervention for Schools (TCIS) training will be something the entire school community benefits from.
Laptops- Like Butter, Wilson and Marques organized the roll-out of the laptops for 10th, 11th and 12th grade to perfection. 9th graders should be receiving laptops shortly. You Are Awesome!
TLP- Chris Purcell, Halley Anne Curtis, Phil Linder, JP Slee, and Daralee Vazquez have been selected to join The NYC DOE Teacher Leader Program. Teachers will learn facilitation skills and be groomed to evolve into the leaders they already are. You Are Awesome!
We the Change- the senior team is at it again! Exciting new campaign to address making students the venue for change in the community is underway. Video Overview You are Awesome!
Check-In- Mondays there will be an advisory check-in 9:45-10:00. “Hey, how was your weekend? Are you ready for the week?” One idea might be to have students take a photo with their phone of their program. They lose their programs daily but are rarely separated from their phone.
Soccer and Bowling - Boys Varsity Soccer is alive and kickin’ thanks to Suraj Gopal next games are 9/20 and 9/22 @ Randall’s Island. Students are stayin’ out of the gutter thanks to Tiffany Boney and the Bowling Team 9/25 and 9/28 @ Frames Bowling Lounge. You are Awesome!

Open Gym - The gym will be open for students to use on Monday and Tuesday before school thanks in large part to Mr. Ortiz who has agreed to host the event during his credit recovery class. You are Awesome!

Off to a Great Start - Tiffany Boney and Vanessa Letourneau are off to a great start. They have seamlessly shared the lead teaching responsibility from the get go and have high hopes for the year. The honeymoon phase of every relationship is the best and ICT partnership are no different. Keeping the enthusiasm going takes communication and work. You are Awesome!
