Meet Joseph Warcholak
What do you do/teach at Hudson?
I teach special ed ELA, History and how to spread sunshine 101
Education because...it beats a nine to five. Because I don't know anywhere else where I might enjoy such pleasant company.
Hudson was the first school I applied to. I didn't know what to expect; there was a weird schedule of 3 months on and 1 month off; all the kids get laptops; the school had main office in the basement and classrooms on the 4th floor. It was weird and I dug it. There was opportunity here and chance — and a captain at the helm who made the airplane we were building feel like home, even if it was being built mid-air.
Impressions of the Hudson Staff?
Hudson staff are eclectic and dedicated. The only concern I have about them is the gaping hole that they left in the places that they used to work because as far as I am concerned they Lebroned every other school they worked for and took their talents to South Beach...or Chelsea.
Hope for the year?
I hope that this year ends with success in most endeavors. I hope there is a coagulation of effort and friendships that have been unseen in previous years that lead into growth of students and teachers.
