Avenues School Hosts PD Sessions
Three events on the same day open to the community at Avenues: The World School on Saturday, February 27.
We are delighted to invite members of the community to register for a free Saturday morning conference on educational equity in our Black Box Theater on February 27. Co-sponsored and supported by our partners, the GO Project and Hudson Guild, and in collaboration with Families for Excellent Schools, Avenues Community Engagement invites you for a morning of honest dialog. As a part of the mastery program at Avenues: The World School, student organizer Ally Witt wanted to bring people around a common table who don’t usually have this discussion together: why is it so hard to talk about educational inequality in New York City? Let’s focus the lens on education in NYC, especially in our own neighborhood – and search for solutions. Click here to RSVP
Molly Price, Avenues parent, actor, producer and creator of The 13th Floor Storyteller Series (Third Watch and HBO's The KNICK) and Co-Producer Sylwia Wiesenberg of Tonique Fitness present "Heard". This series brings together aged out foster youth and elders from our senior communities who have lived long and rich lives. You will hear true stories about human spirits that survived great adversities and deprivation - stories of fortitude, love, courage, passion, humor and resilience. For an evening of compassionate listening , the 13th Floor Story Tellers Series presents "Heard" in our own Black Box Theater at Avenues. Free and open to the community.
